ok, one of the most eye opening experiences today was reading the "The Five Love Languages" by Gary Chapman. No, I'm not married, but I think it is a valuable book to read if you want to understand how best for you to be loved, and how to understand and love others so that they undeniably know it! Basically it will improve your relationships with people in your life; I know that sounds like a tall order, but it simply makes sense...it's logical. Plus, it's a NY Times Bestseller (which I think means something to someone out there?). Anywho, I am now aware that my top 3 love languages are:
#1 Quality Time
"In the vernacular of Quality Time, nothing says, “I love you,” like full, undivided attention. Being there for this type of person is critical, but really being there—with the TV off, fork and knife down, and all chores and tasks on standby—makes your significant other feel truly special and loved. Distractions, postponed dates, or the failure to listen can be especially hurtful."
#2 Physical Touch
"A person whose primary language is Physical Touch is, not surprisingly, very touchy. Hugs, pats on the back, holding hands, and thoughtful touches on the arm, shoulder, or face—they can all be ways to show excitement, concern, care, and love. Physical presence and accessibility are crucial, while neglect or abuse can be unforgivable and destructive."
#3 Words of Affirmation
"Actions don’t always speak louder than words. If this is your love language, unsolicited compliments mean the world to you. Hearing the words, “I love you,” are important—hearing the reasons behind that love sends your spirits skyward. Insults can leave you shattered and are not easily forgotten."

definitely #1 though, I was laughing out loud at some of the parts, it's just very me. Through and through. I think the definitions are much clearer in the book, because each language has a chapter.

Thus, today I feel enlightened and excited about my job possibility for the summer.

<3 Meg
