London Day number FOUR!

Hi there all my blogspot readers!

I promise I haven't forgotten you, I've just been a busy bee, buzzing all around London, exploring and spreading my wings. I feel like I have been here for a substantial amount of time, which I think means I'm settling in...because I have really only been here for four days, three of those days very full and overflowing with new experiences, that exhilirate me and fill me with more joy and excitement than I could have even imagined. I hope through my blogs I can capture some of what I am feeling throughout this experience.

It is a constant battle within my mind to rationalize what I am seeing on a daily basis. How can seeing such exquisite masterpieces ever be a mundane activity, or become something just to accept? IT CAN'T! So I am finding myself in a lovely land of limbo, in a world of surreal beauty that I am not sure how to believe is real.

Let me list out all of the things I have done thus far (and trust me there is NO possible way I can convey all I have learned so far, I would have to spend two days for every ONE I have here to capture and reflect on this journey completely...):

1. Heathrow Airport

2. The Underground Tube (which I am very very used to and experienced with now...)

3. Bakers Oven Restaurant-first place I ate in London

4. Lee Abbey

5. Globe Theater

6. Pico Lino Restaurant-best vanilla ice cream EVER!

7. Westminster Abbey-attended Sunday service

8.Tried Flapjacks of various kinds(thanks Eug!)

9. Big Ben

10. London Eye

11. Millenium Bridge

12. London Bridge (the real one...we have the one they were basically giving away).

13. Contemporary Art Museum

14. Sainsbury Local Store-good food to go

15. St. James Park-beautiful scenery!!!!

16. National Gallery London-Saw DaVinci, Rembrandt, Titian etc

17. British Museum-Rosetta Stone, part of the Parthenon..lots more

18. Trafalgar Square

19. Russell Park

20. Explored South Kensington throroughly

21. Have seen various street musicians including an acoustic guitar playing clown

22. Obtained and fell in love with my Oyster card

23. My first chocolate croissant

24. My first taxi cab ride/driving on the the wrong side of everything!

25. Jaywalking is allowed...in fact there are no traffic rules, hence why I have had some close encounters

26. Prawn Cocktail chips, and chicken bacon chips are popuar(I have yet to try them, and chips are called crisps over here)

27. Eating lunch in the park with friends is always a good idea

28. Camera should always be out...

Well, that's the list for now, there is definitely a lot I left out, but I can only remember so much :~)

So you all know I am seeing amazing things, but in the big picture and scheme of things, I am learning a lot about life, and people and love. Those are the lessons I will try and share here intermixed with stories that I absoultely must share with you...but I think I want this blog to be more than a list of what I have been doing...you can look at my facebook status/page for that stuff.

So,how am I doing? I am doing swell. Today was my favorite day in London yet because we actually had time to explore on our own. I constantly feel enlightened and in a state of learning, never quite at rest, but always on the alert for the next thing I should be learning/noticing etc. I don't want to miss one single detail!

Ok, well I think my mind is running in circles, but I will share as much with you as I can and as often as I can, but my days are very full, so I will try my best cause I love you all and I want you to be updated on my life as I want to be of yours....Anyways, that's enough for tonight.

Love from London,

Meg
