The adventure begins! It had a rough start, but God held me tight and showed me the way through the storm (literally).
After an emotional goodbye, I breezed through security, enjoyed a cinnabon(my last bite of American cuisine for a while) and sent some texts and made some calls to pass the time before boarding.
Nerves mounting, and being soothed all at the same time, talk about a whirlwind of emotion...Saying goodbye, but hello all at the same time. I was a bundle of excitement, anticiation and anxiety, and I wasn't sure which emotion to allow to dominate.
Excitement won. After boarding the plane I met a wonderful British couple who kept me in good company the entire trip long. Including the 3.5 hours we got to sit on the runway in our plane, delayed because of a rainstorm. I really have had bad timing in life lately. God is teaching me a lesson there, I need to be receptive to what He is saying to me.
A list of observations/likes and dislikes so far:
1.British Airways food is good, as are their amenities
2. London is obsessed with shapes, especially squares. (square toilets, buses, businesses etc)
3. The British let the F word fly quite freely. Boo.
4. There are no "new" buildings in London
5. Lace curtains are the preference here
6. A rucksack is a bag of somekind
7. It rains a lot in London...I believe that now
8. Heathrow is complicated and shiny...seriously, REALLY shiny.
9. My new camera is bomb
10. lugging luggage around sucks. big time.
11. God is bigger than________ (fill in the blank).
Alright, my blogging capabilities have been diminished for the day. I'm gonna blame that on jet lag.
Good night love,
Meg
Glad you're having fun over there!
